Senator Conroy has launched a new blog in which he calls for feedback about the proposed net filtering scheme.

The Digital Economy Future Directions blog was launched today as a platform for discussion about Australia’s digital economy. Topics will include measuring success, access to public sector information and environmental concerns.

But the most notable topic is “How do we maintain the same ‘civil society’ we enjoy offline in an online world?”

The blog notes, This is the post that touches on the issue of filtering and we welcome your feedback about the issue in response to this post.”

It also notes, “We expect to hear a range of views, including some criticisms and negative comments—all we ask is that you submit considered, on-topic comments.”

However, comments will be moderated by staff, and only approved between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm.

Protesters are expected to swamp the website with comments, with one person telling Ban This URL, “Senator Conroy dreamed up the net censorship scheme without ever asking what we thought. Well, now we’re going to tell him. Every single one of us.”
